IATA: Egypt Air the largest airline in Africa
EgyptAir has obtained the first position as the largest airline in Africa in terms of total number of passengers who flew with the company in 2010. The airline was classified in the report issued recently by the International Air Transport Association IATA, which indicates that the title was the result of expansion in the airline's network and the ongoing modernization of its fleet, as well as compatibility with the latest technology in the air transport industry, which helped to provide benefits and services to its customers. EgyptAir has transferred the largest number of passengers in the African continent in 2010 - more than 9 million passengers – over by 3 million passengers compared with South Africa Airlines, which won second place while the Moroccan airlines transferred 5 million passengers to come in third place, Algerian Airlines in the fourth place, and the Ethiopian Airlines in the fifth place.
